Almost all of us turn to Google when we want to find immediate information about something or someone.
It was this routine action that alerted Ulrich Richter, a Mexican lawyer, to the existence of a blog named after him that spreads false information about him and in which he is accused of money laundering.
It has been six years since he launched a legal battle to get Google to remove it from the internet, since it is hosted on its free blogging platform, and thus stop it from appearing in search engine results.
His first great achievement was getting the tech giant to stand trial in Mexico and not in the United States, where it is headquartered. The last, this year, that a judge condemned the company and forced it to pay for the moral damage caused.
